“Le Grand Chef 2” begins with the Korean president visiting the Japanese Prime Minister and becoming involved in a heated debate over the origins of kimchi. The Japanese Prime Minister makes the bold claim that kimchi is an original Japanese dish which sets off the Korean president. Upon the Korean’s president return home he sets upon a globalization plan for kimchi, which includes a nationwide “Kimchi Contest”. Then, a lady named Jang-eun (Kim Jung-Eun) and her step-brother Sung-Chan (Jin Goo) compete in the Kimchi dish contest, with both siblings using their mother’s kimchi recipe.

A pastry chef dreams of opening her own dessert shop; she is paired with another chef for a grand event during which they must learn from one another and eventually come together to create a menu in time for Christmas.

After opening a 100-year-old time capsule and finding her grandfather’s old journal, Lou questions whether she should move to New York after Christmas to further her writing career or stay in Pine Grove to carry on her family’s local newspaper. Charming chef, Kyle, is also at a crossroads, visiting Pine Grove for the holidays.

Hao’s Singaporean restaurant is in danger of going out of business. Hao’s grandson, Mark, secretly travels to Shanghai to attend a cooking competition despite his grandfather’s wishes for him to become an engineer. Mark takes the place of a contestant who did not show up and must now impress the host, Julia Lee, and her chef husband, David Chen. Chen, who is originally from Singapore and misses his family, eventually learns he is Mark’s father.
